On top of flood, this includes other natural hazards such as windstorms, lightning, hail, tornadoes, wildfires and earthquakes, as well as forward looking hazard maps for estimating possible future risks arising specifically from climate change, such as, in addition to flood, drought, heat and precipitation stress or weather suitable for spontaneous fire formation. The aim is to provide the insurance market with the most comprehensive and advanced natural hazards data that will enable underwriters, risk engineers, reinsurance specialists, adjusters, actuaries, methodologists and other professionals to have the insight and knowledge to deal with the changing challenges associated with natural hazards and climate change, and to be able to make data-driven decisions.
